   Translation of Sindarin Peredhel, plural Peredhil, applied to Elrond and Elros; and to Eärendil.

   The descendants of Elves and Men.

   Name given to those who shared descent from Elves and Men, as for example when the Mortal Tuor wedded Idril, daughter of Turgon. Their children and descendants were given the choice to be counted among Elvenkind or Men. In almost all cases, they chose the Elder Kindred, with most famous exception being Tuor's grandson Elros, the first King of Númenor.

   A title of Elrond and Elros, the English translation of the Elvish peredhil. Their father Eärendil and mother Elwing had Men and Elves in their ancestry.
